As 2007 fast approaches, with Germany in command of the rotating presidency of the European Union for the first half of the year, Germany is setting the stage to perform thunderous acts and stun their audience with lightning speed and awesome ability.
The German accelerant to European unification will seize the moment and ignite the imagination to consolidate the continent in their no-nonsense manner, getting down to business and wasting no time, serious that the Islamo-fascist threat targets Rome and Vienna - "Western Christian Civilization" - and that only the cross can repel the crescent. Germany will invoke and wield assistance from both industrialists and politicians, ministers of state and religion, especially the Vatican who champions Germany as the "Defender of the Faith."
Offering a stark glimpse of where Germany will lead Europe, the world's most powerful woman (according to Forbes), Angela Merkel, following a private meeting with the Bavarian pope - weighed in:
"We spoke about the role of Europe and I emphasised the need for a constitution and that it should refer to our Christian values," she said. "I believe this treaty should be linked to Christianity and God because Christianity was decisive in the formation of Europe."
Such calculated comments led to charges that Merkel resurrects ‘holy’ EU constitution row, as can be expected, but to her credit she didn't shy away from the controversy or conceal her convictions. However, much more is at stake in the heart of Europe than first meets the eye. The German chancellor's endorsement is only the tip of the iceberg.
Catholic politicians are going on the offensive against secular resistance to mention of Christian heritage in the Preamble of the European Constitutional Treaty with their Association of the Europe Foundation. Giorgio Salina, president of the new organization, states its purpose is to counter the "widespread and manifest hostility that Christian culture -- considered a subculture -- meets within European institutions, specifically, in Parliament".
Salina is also the vice president of the Convention of Christians for Europe, who plan on meeting once or twice a year with "deputies, Christians and those sensitive to Christian, national and European values."
Mario Mauro, vice president of the European Parliament, has stressed the importance of the foundation's mission of building a Christian identity in Europe.
Germany's foreign minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has revealed that Germany has every intention of making the EU constitution a priority next year, telling German diplomats "We need a constitution as soon as possible." The heat is on. The politicians have received their marching orders.
We can expect the Bavarian pope and his politico-religious puppets to forge ahead with their plans to remodel Europe after the "holy Roman Empire of the German Nation." Sound far-fetched? Not at all. Laying the foundation for it in fertile minds, helping to shape public perception and policy, just in time for Germany's ascension to the throne, Germany hosts An Empire Revisited 200 Years After Its Demise. Germany's information services describes it as "two major retrospectives featuring historic documents and artifacts in Berlin and Magdeburg, along with several related exhibits in Frankfurt and other cities, aim to bring this empire back to life 200 years after it was declared dead in Vienna by Kaiser Franz II in the Europe of Napoleon."
Yet some, failing to connect the dots, or unable to believe that truth is stranger than fiction or Germany capable of backsliding, lament The clothes have no emperor, that Europe "does not, it cannot, seem to speak with one voice: it cannot even agree to speak through one person...to speak collectively with a single voice...the advantages of speaking and acting authoritatively with the collective weight of the world's largest trading bloc are so self-evident and overwhelming ...".
Germany will get down to the brass tacks and prepare the way for the emperor to fill the clothes that yet hang limp. Europe's strong man, with the pope's promotion, will emerge as the grand design demands. However, Europe is not only taking a monumental risk that such a leader will always adhere to its ideals, it is gambling with world peace. Is a world dictator about to appear? Based upon both the Bible and history, I would say, yah.

The American, British and Jewish peoples are in serious trouble. His operators could not have overlooked this fact." What this means is that Raviv's acts of extremist incitement affected the public perception of the entire right-wing camp, including the Likud, and also furnished fuel for the left-wing counterattack before Rabin's murder.
This conclusion leads one to ask a question that is so horrific that it is in fact difficult to put down on paper. Was Yitzhak Rabin, who paid with his own life for the brave peace policy he pursued, a victim of his own actions? In the past, his close associates used to rail against the disdain with which he entertained their warnings of possible risks to his physical safety, but now a different question arises. Was he a party, knowingly or not, to Raviv's incitement activities? Did he continue to respond to incitement from the right even when he knew that it was stoked, or at least partially so, by the provocative acts of undercover agent Avishai Raviv? And if this is the case, did Rabin do so because it gave him a casus belli to flay his political adversaries?"

Beware German soldiers on Israel's border!
Role of multinational force in Lebanon explored

MONTREAL - Avi Primor, a respected Israeli diplomat, is a former Israeli ambassador to Germany and the European Union, and a former vice-president of Tel Aviv University. He is currently director of European studies at the interdisciplinary centre of Herzliya University.
Primor, who is close to Israeli Defence Minister Amir Peretz, has, from the beginning of the war with Lebanon, been responsible for evaluating the possibility of deploying an international military force in southern Lebanon.
In an interview from his home in Tel Aviv, Primor discussed the war.
Canadian Jewish News: Could the international community force Israel to accept a ceasefire?
Primor: In the final analysis, the situation is this: no one wants war and everyone wants a ceasefire, but it depends on the conditions. If we’re talking about having a ceasefire imposed on us, as Hezbollah, Iran and Syria are asking, in order to preserve the status quo ante, it’s out of the question. The situation in southern Lebanon has to change drastically, completely.
At the moment, the Lebanese army is too weak to deploy troops in southern Lebanon. The other possibility is to call on a strong international force capable of fighting the Hezbollah militia and allowing the government in Beirut to impose its authority on all of southern Lebanon. If these conditions were met, then there could be a ceasefire. Meanwhile, Israel must continue to fight Hezbollah, and at the same time, prepare the ground for the deployment of an international force.
CJN: What role does Israel see for this multinational force?
Primor: This would have to be very different from other peace forces that have been sent to the Middle East. It would be an international force modelled on the multinational force that was established in Kosovo, or the one that attacked Iraq in 1991 to liberate Kuwait. It would be a combat force, not a force of observers.
A few days before her first visit to Lebanon and Israel, American Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said the same thing – that any international force must have the mandate and the military potential needed to be active rather than passive like the UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) soldiers now stationed in southern Lebanon.
CJN: Is this multinational force likely to be in place soon?
Primor: No, it would take several weeks to deploy. The troops have to be organized, with the approval of their governments, once the governments have the approval of their respective parliaments. The military intervention force will also need to have a clear mandate from the United Nations.
CJN: Would this force operate under the aegis of the United Nations?
Primor: No. This military force would not be under the direct command of the United Nations, but probably under that of NATO. The UN will only give its approval to the military force to give it international legitimacy.
CJN: Do you think the Lebanese government will agree to collaborate with this international intervention force?
Primor: It’s in the Lebanese government’s best interest to collaborate closely with this multinational force whose principal mandate will be to disarm Hezbollah. Without the help of the political authorities in Beirut, the military force will not be able to accomplish its objectives.
CJN: What are the main countries that will provide soldiers for this international military force?
Primor: The countries Israel would like to see participate are the ones that have a stake in Lebanon. First of all, France, which has a stake in and an emotional attachment to Lebanon and a military force that can carry out this type of foreign mission. The French military has already proven itself in several countries. But France can’t and doesn’t want to do this work alone. It will probably receive support from other European military forces, certainly from Germany.
CJN: Is it possible that the presence of German soldiers on Israel’s northern border will make Israelis uncomfortable?
Primor: Yes. The majority of Israelis would view with disfavour any deployment of German military forces along the Israeli-Lebanese border. Any accidental confrontation would have dramatic consequences for both Israel and Germany. But if there are German forces, I think they would have to take on two important tasks: helping with logistics, and stationing troops in northern Lebanon along the Syrian border to prevent the passage of Iranian arms coming to Lebanon through Syria.
CJN: Will the high number of Lebanese civilians who have died in IDF bombings of Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon weaken the support of western governments for Israel?
Primor: I don’t share that view. On the contrary, I believe it has been a very long time since Israel has had the benefit of such strong international support, including that of Europe. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t critics or concerns. The images that are being shown – you see them more than we Israelis do because our television stations protect us from them – are tragic images. You must understand that no sensitive human beings can remain indifferent to these images.
I attended some of the conversations that Condoleezza Rice had with top Israeli politicians during her first stop in Jerusalem. Eighty per cent of these discussions dealt with humanitarian issues in Lebanon. Nevertheless, Rice, like the Bush administration, unconditionally supports the State of Israel. She does not want a ceasefire. On the contrary, she wants Israel to continue to fight Hezbollah. There are even a fair number of Americans who are pushing us to attack Syria.
Yet the American politicians are very aware of the humanitarian crisis in Lebanon. And American public opinion, like public opinion anywhere in the world, is very sensitive to the war images coming from Lebanon. Still, the fact that European public opinion is also very sensitive to these dreadful images doesn’t mean that it does not support Israel in her war, which is a just war, a war of defence against the Islamist forces that attacked us.
CJN: In an interview with the newspaper Le Monde (July 27), French President Jacques Chirac said: “In this conflict, the blame is obviously shared.” Did that declaration shock Israelis?
Primor: Of course it shocked us. But you must understand that France has always been very sensitive toward Lebanon. The country is, in a way, its precious child. In addition, if France has to be at the forefront in southern Lebanon, it doesn’t want to alienate a majority of Lebanese. It wants the popular support of the Lebanese people. France can’t support Israel unconditionally because it would have very little credibility with the Lebanese.
I understand France’s position. But I can also tell you that in private conversations we have had with French political figures, we have seen that the French position is not so black-and-white.
CJN: In this conflict, English-speaking countries, specifically the United States, Great Britain, Canada and Australia, are supporting Israel, whereas non-anglophone countries, especially in Europe, are criticizing – some vehemently – Israel’s entirely legitimate response to the Hezbollah attacks. How do you explain this?
Primor: I don’t know how the situation appears in Canada, but the United States and England are both in an all-out war, in Iraq and Afghanistan, against Islamist terrorist forces. These two countries, both directly affected by Islamist terrorism, are more sensitive to Israel’s struggle against terrorist organizations. Europe, with the exception of England, is not present on these battlegrounds.
CJN: Is this conflict likely to significantly tarnish Israel’s image in the world?
Primor: I think Israel’s image will depend a lot on the outcome of this conflict. If this war ends with Hezbollah being significantly weakened, international law being imposed, and the restoration of the legitimacy of the government of Beirut in all of the Lebanese territory, I believe the overall result for Israel will be positive, although there will always be critics.

MONTREAL - Avi Primor, a respected Israeli diplomat, is a former Israeli ambassador to Germany and the European Union, and a former vice-president of Tel Aviv University. He is currently director of European studies at the interdisciplinary centre of Herzliya University.
Primor, who is close to Israeli Defence Minister Amir Peretz, has, from the beginning of the war with Lebanon, been responsible for evaluating the possibility of deploying an international military force in southern Lebanon.
In an interview from his home in Tel Aviv, Primor discussed the war.
Canadian Jewish News: Could the international community force Israel to accept a ceasefire?
Primor: In the final analysis, the situation is this: no one wants war and everyone wants a ceasefire, but it depends on the conditions. If we’re talking about having a ceasefire imposed on us, as Hezbollah, Iran and Syria are asking, in order to preserve the status quo ante, it’s out of the question. The situation in southern Lebanon has to change drastically, completely.
At the moment, the Lebanese army is too weak to deploy troops in southern Lebanon. The other possibility is to call on a strong international force capable of fighting the Hezbollah militia and allowing the government in Beirut to impose its authority on all of southern Lebanon. If these conditions were met, then there could be a ceasefire. Meanwhile, Israel must continue to fight Hezbollah, and at the same time, prepare the ground for the deployment of an international force.
CJN: What role does Israel see for this multinational force?
Primor: This would have to be very different from other peace forces that have been sent to the Middle East. It would be an international force modelled on the multinational force that was established in Kosovo, or the one that attacked Iraq in 1991 to liberate Kuwait. It would be a combat force, not a force of observers.
A few days before her first visit to Lebanon and Israel, American Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said the same thing – that any international force must have the mandate and the military potential needed to be active rather than passive like the UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) soldiers now stationed in southern Lebanon.
CJN: Is this multinational force likely to be in place soon?
Primor: No, it would take several weeks to deploy. The troops have to be organized, with the approval of their governments, once the governments have the approval of their respective parliaments. The military intervention force will also need to have a clear mandate from the United Nations.
CJN: Would this force operate under the aegis of the United Nations?
Primor: No. This military force would not be under the direct command of the United Nations, but probably under that of NATO. The UN will only give its approval to the military force to give it international legitimacy.
CJN: Do you think the Lebanese government will agree to collaborate with this international intervention force?
Primor: It’s in the Lebanese government’s best interest to collaborate closely with this multinational force whose principal mandate will be to disarm Hezbollah. Without the help of the political authorities in Beirut, the military force will not be able to accomplish its objectives.
CJN: What are the main countries that will provide soldiers for this international military force?
Primor: The countries Israel would like to see participate are the ones that have a stake in Lebanon. First of all, France, which has a stake in and an emotional attachment to Lebanon and a military force that can carry out this type of foreign mission. The French military has already proven itself in several countries. But France can’t and doesn’t want to do this work alone. It will probably receive support from other European military forces, certainly from Germany.
CJN: Is it possible that the presence of German soldiers on Israel’s northern border will make Israelis uncomfortable?
Primor: Yes. The majority of Israelis would view with disfavour any deployment of German military forces along the Israeli-Lebanese border. Any accidental confrontation would have dramatic consequences for both Israel and Germany. But if there are German forces, I think they would have to take on two important tasks: helping with logistics, and stationing troops in northern Lebanon along the Syrian border to prevent the passage of Iranian arms coming to Lebanon through Syria.
CJN: Will the high number of Lebanese civilians who have died in IDF bombings of Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon weaken the support of western governments for Israel?
Primor: I don’t share that view. On the contrary, I believe it has been a very long time since Israel has had the benefit of such strong international support, including that of Europe. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t critics or concerns. The images that are being shown – you see them more than we Israelis do because our television stations protect us from them – are tragic images. You must understand that no sensitive human beings can remain indifferent to these images.
I attended some of the conversations that Condoleezza Rice had with top Israeli politicians during her first stop in Jerusalem. Eighty per cent of these discussions dealt with humanitarian issues in Lebanon. Nevertheless, Rice, like the Bush administration, unconditionally supports the State of Israel. She does not want a ceasefire. On the contrary, she wants Israel to continue to fight Hezbollah. There are even a fair number of Americans who are pushing us to attack Syria.
Yet the American politicians are very aware of the humanitarian crisis in Lebanon. And American public opinion, like public opinion anywhere in the world, is very sensitive to the war images coming from Lebanon. Still, the fact that European public opinion is also very sensitive to these dreadful images doesn’t mean that it does not support Israel in her war, which is a just war, a war of defence against the Islamist forces that attacked us.
CJN: In an interview with the newspaper Le Monde (July 27), French President Jacques Chirac said: “In this conflict, the blame is obviously shared.” Did that declaration shock Israelis?
Primor: Of course it shocked us. But you must understand that France has always been very sensitive toward Lebanon. The country is, in a way, its precious child. In addition, if France has to be at the forefront in southern Lebanon, it doesn’t want to alienate a majority of Lebanese. It wants the popular support of the Lebanese people. France can’t support Israel unconditionally because it would have very little credibility with the Lebanese.
I understand France’s position. But I can also tell you that in private conversations we have had with French political figures, we have seen that the French position is not so black-and-white.

Europe, with the exception of England, is not present on these battlegrounds.
CJN: Is this conflict likely to significantly tarnish Israel’s image in the world?
Primor: I think Israel’s image will depend a lot on the outcome of this conflict. If this war ends with Hezbollah being significantly weakened, international law being imposed, and the restoration of the legitimacy of the government of Beirut in all of the Lebanese territory, I believe the overall result for Israel will be positive, although there will always be critics.

Tony Blair's speech concedes defeat
Tony Blair revealed, in his speech to the Los Angeles World Affairs Council, he just doesn't get it (or is at least ordered to appear that way like President Bush). The war on terrorism is a war against Nazi-Muslims, plain and simple. It is not our duty to try and convert those nations to our "values" (doesn't he realize our values, dangerously adrift from our biblical moorings, is what alienates many of the faithful among Islam?). We are called to serve as a "city on a hill," a light to all the nations, a model nation others seek to emulate not immolate!
Contrary to humanist ideas, spreading democracy is not our holy mission. Democracy is not the gospel. It has worked relatively well among our Israelite family of nations with our disposition, but generally fails among those who aren't so inclined to it, who don't share our proclivity for it, as is their prerogative. We're trying to scrub the spots off the leopard and it just won't work!

However, it is not yet a Catholic crusade (will a nuclear jihad against Vienna or Berlin provoke a rapid response from the EU?), and it certainly isn't a Christian crusade - although some embers of biblical influence remain despite the floodgates of hell that have waged war against them, our "values" that have systematically sought to squelch and substitute them with evolution, humanism and relativism - it is a SECULAR CRUSADE, a serious conflict of interests, a culture clash.
This is not just about security or military tactics. It is about hearts and minds about inspiring people, persuading them, showing them what our values at their best stand for.

We lost the war when we became entangled in the world of ideas and attitudes rather than stay focused on taking out a hostile regime and leaving Iraq to do whatever Iraq wanted to do - civil war or not. Otherwise we should clear out the area of Arabs and claim it for the British-Israelites, Joes (Joseph isn't Jewish!), as it is part of Greater Israel to the Euphrates, and open it up like the Wild West, offering incentives to pioneers willing to move there and stake out claims. (Besides, we're still in the process of nation building here at home, with many improvements needed and changes necessary. Charity begins at home. Cut off our entangling alliances and bring our troops and money home! Why shouldn't taxpayers money be spent in America - not overseas by foreigners who hate us and would dance in the streets if we fell tomorrow?).
If the Iraqis "elected" to choose another hostile regime making serious threats against us, we could take out that dictator too. We didn't defeat the Japanese or Germans by trying to impress them with our "values" or self-restraint. We fought and won the war and didn't worry about disproportionate use of force or civilian casualties, knowing our enemies are responsible for such and must be held accountable. They started the war, we finished it.
Blair then praised General Sharon for illegally expelling innocent Jews - rewarding terrorism and providing them another base to launch attacks against Israel - preached the nations must force the "peace" issue between Israel and "Palestinians," and promoted an accursed Palestine as the final solution. He should have called for an Anglo-Israeli alliance to defeat our sworn enemies.
Jews and Christian-Zionists oppose such a BIG LIE and remind all the world to go by the Book (Malachi 4:4) and scrap the worthless road map that is leading to the dismantling of Israel, the occupation of Jerusalem, and the fall of the United States and British Commonwealth (due to rot from within and the death blow by fascist Europe from without).

Peretz OKs NATO Force in South Lebanon

Defense Minister Amir Peretz approved the use of NATO forces in south Lebanon Sunday morning in a meeting with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
The German foreign minister was first on a list of several who were scheduled to meet with government officials today as they work to open a political front alongside the current military operation.

Defense Minister Amir Peretz approved the use of NATO forces in south Lebanon Sunday morning in a meeting with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

German Spies in Hunt for Kidnapped Israeli Soldiers
German security services are operating in the Middle East in the hunt for the kidnapped Israeli soldiers. And as UN Secretary General Kofi Annan condemns the scale of the destruction, Israel does not prepare ready to stand down and Hezbollah remains defiant.
Germany's intelligence service the BND has been active for weeks in the Middle East in the search for the kidnapped Israeli soldiers, a German newspaper reported on Friday. According to the Berliner Zeitung, German agents, in cooperation with their Russian counterparts, are using their contacts with Hamas and Hezbollah to try to secure the release of the hostages. The paper claims Germany's Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov agreed July 12 on a joint mission to the Middle East to try to force an end to the conflict.
The Israeli government has asked for the German government's assistance to secure the release of its soldiers, reported news agency DDP, apparently confirmed by security sources in Berlin. The reason? Germany played a crucial role in the 2004 prisoner exchange between Israel and Hezbollah. However, Schimon Stein, Israeli ambassador in Germany, told SPIEGEL ONLINE that the report that Israel had asked for Germany's assistance in communicating with Hezbollah and Hamas was "inaccurate" because Israel does not negotiate with "terrorists."
Annan pushes for cease-fire
Meanwhile, UN Secretary General Kofi Annan has repeated his call for a cease-fire. "What is most urgently needed is an immediate cessation of hostilities," he said on Thursday. While he condemned Hezbollah's "provocative attack" for igniting hostilities he saved his most barbed comments for Israel, condemning its "excessive use of force" which would weaken the Lebanese government and do "little or nothing to decrease popular support for Hezbollah in Lebanon or the region".
But Israel's ambassador to the UN Dan Gillerman has rejected Annan's cease-fire proposals, criticizing the UN chief for neglecting to mention terrorism, Iran or Syria during his speech. Gillerman said Israel "will do whatever is necessary" to defeat Hezbollah. "When you operate on a cancerous growth you do not stop in the middle, sew the patient up and tell him keep living with that growth until it kills you. You make sure it is totally removed," he said.
Israel can still rely on the continued support of veto-wielding UN Security Council members the United States and Great Britain, as both countries refuse to condemn the scale of Israeli military offensive. US ambassador to the UN John Bolton was critical of Annan telling reporters: "No one has explained how you conduct a cease-fire with a group of terrorists."
Hezbollah defiant
The leader of Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah has told Arab TV channel al-Jazeera that his group had not been weakened by Israel's campaign, despite heavy bombardment and Israel's claim to have destroyed half its rocket capability. He insisted no amount of international pressure and diplomacy would secure the release of the Israeli soldiers "If the entire universe came, it will not bring back the Israel soldiers unless through indirect negotiations and a prisoner swap," he said.
Responding to growing indications that Israel might be preparing a ground invasion of southern Lebanon, Nasrallah said: "A land invasion will be a disaster for the Israeli army, a disaster for their tanks, officers and soldiers."
The conflict has so far claimed the lives of at least 312 Lebanese and 34 Israelis with at least 500,000 Lebanese citizens displaced by the attacks. Israelis remain strongly supportive of the war against Hezbollah. A survey published in the Maariv newspaper Friday said 90 per cent of Israelis said the war should continue until Hezbollah is driven out of southern Lebanon.

THE OMINOUS PARALLELS : NAZISM AND THE EU
It's often claimed - not least by our opponents - that Nazis and Fascists are nothing more than extreme xenophobic nationalists, totally opposed to 'good' international bodies like the EU. In the words of the song, "It Ain't Necessarily So.""
The EU War Baby
Back in 1942, a book called "The European Community" was published. Its principal author, a Doctor of Economics, had argued in 1940 for a "Central European Union" and "European Economic Area" and for fixed exchange rates - EMU in all but name. In this book, he wrote that "No nation in Europe can achieve on its own the highest level of economic freedom which is compatible with all social requirements...The formation of very large economic areas follows a natural law of development....interstate agreements in Europe will control [economic forces generally]...There must be a readiness to subordinate one's own interests in certain cases to those of [the EC]."
One of his co-authors wrote that the "classic national economy..is dead...community of fate which is the European economy...fate and extent of European co-operation depends on a new unity economic plan". Another observed that "We have a real European Community task before us...I am convinced that this Community effort will last beyond the end of the war."
The last three words explain things. The principal author was Nazi Economics Minister and war criminal Walther Funk. The other two were respectively Nazi academic Heinrich Hunke and official Gustav Koenig. Nor were they just eccentrics. Goering's orders in 1940 were followed by a project for the "large-scale economic unification of Europe" Goebbels, in the same year, compared Germany's road to unification in the nineteenth century with Europe's in the twentieth, believing that "in fifty years' time [people] no longer think in terms of countries."
The Same Old "New Europe"?
Ribbentrop, in 1943, endorsed plans for a European confederation. Seyss-Inquart, Gauleiter of Holland, spoke of "The new Europe of solidarity and co-operation among all its people... will find...rapidly increasing prosperity once national economic boundaries are removed."
Their collaborators felt the same way. Quisling himself stated that there was no opposition between European economic co-operation and National Socialism, Vichy French Minister Jacques Benoist-Mechin that France had to "abandon nationalism...take place in European Community with honour."
In the words of Rodney Atkinson, "The European Community was therefore intended by the Nazis.... as a common cause against British...economic systems of trade and free exchange." Mr. Atkinson goes on (in his book "Europe's Full Circle") to kindly provide us (pages 92-93) with a list of parallels between "Hitler's Europe" and "Today's Europe."

No, I'm not just indulging in cheap jibes or insinuating that all Europhiles are closet Nazis. Obviously they don't share Hitler's racial paranoia. No doubt they see them selves as good liberal-minded democrats. However, all totalitarian regimes stand for concentrating power in central hands. They're all prone to meddle in people's private lives and pursuits and to issue directives without properly consulting a free Parliament first. In short - the Eurocrats may not be totalitarians but they are totalitarian-minded in their behaviour.

A final thought: The Nazis used referenda to seduce power out of the hands of the people's representatives and concentrate it in the hands of a few. German-Russian pipeline leaves Poland aghast
Poland compares German-Russian pipeline to Nazi-Soviet pact

The Polish defence minister has compared a planned German-Russian gas pipeline to the 1939 Hitler-Stalin deal partitioning Poland, with EU energy commissioner Andris Piebalgs also criticising the gas project.
The 1,200 km pipeline is currently under construction and will link Russia to Germany under the Baltic Sea, bypassing states which maintain problematic ties with Moscow such as Poland, the Baltic states and Ukraine.
The project, agreed by former German chancellor Gerhard Schroder and Russian president Vladimir Putin in 2005, has sparked repeated criticism from Poland and Lithuania which say Germany should have consulted fellow EU member states.
Polish defence minister Radek Sikorski at a transatlantic conference in Brussels on Sunday (30 April) compared the pipeline to the 1939 Molotov-Ribbentrop pact, named after the Soviet and Nazi foreign ministers who divided Poland in a secret protocol.
"Poland has a particular sensitivity to corridors and deals above our head. That was the Locarno tradition, that was the Molotov-Ribbentrop tradition. That was the 20th century. We don't want any repetition of that," Mr Sikorski said according to Reuters.
He argued that Germany should have spoken to Poland before striking the deal.
"Taking the decision first and consulting us later is not our idea of solidarity," the minister said, while attacking current German chancellor Angela Merkel for not cancelling the deal made by the previous government.
"We asked. She refused," Mr Sikorski stated.
Bad for consumers
The Polish minister said the pipeline under the Baltic Sea would be $6 billion (€4.8 billion) more expensive than land-based gas pipeline projects through Poland, leading to higher energy prices for consumers.
"Germany is an important partner for us. We are astonished that Germany would do something which doesn't benefit consumers and the geopolitical objective of which is to be able to cut off Belarus and Poland without cutting off Germany," he explained.
"The Russian ambassador to Belarus said last week when the Baltic pipeline is built, [Russian state gas monopoly] Gazprom will be able to cut off Belarus without cutting off Germany. That means Poland too."
EU energy commissioner Andris Piebalgs backed Warsaw's criticism of Germany's unilateral approach to Russia.
"We should never have the situation we will have with this pipeline, where one partner country decided a project that is not acceptable to others, not even discussing it," he said.
The European Commission in a landmark green paper on energy in March proposed the development of a "common external energy policy" towards Moscow.
Currently, Russia's state gas monopoly Gazprom provides about 30 percent of gas supplies for France, Germany and Italy, and over 90 percent to new EU member states in central and eastern Europe.
Russia also supplies about one quarter of Europe's oil.
EU seeks US help
Speaking at the same conference, commission president Jose Manuel Barroso said that Moscow should open its energy market to competition if it expects to gain further access to European markets.
"If we put an open, competitive European market at the disposal of Russia then we expect reciprocity. An open, competitive market for us. But here lies the difference between us," he indicated, according to Polish media.
Mr Barroso added that Brussels and Washington will put the thorny issue on the agenda of a G8 leaders' meeting in St Petersburg in July.
"The EU and US must together send a clear signal on the need to change the paradigm in energy matters. I will give such a message at the next EU-US summit in June and also at the St Petersburg summit in July."
"As constructive partners [together with the US] we should clearly declare our discomfort at the developments in Russia," he added.

Poland is wiser than the rest of Europe, not ignorant of Germany's devices, or at least it is voicing its legitimate concerns about the "new" Germany up to its old tricks again. Who said the leopard could change its spots?
The camouflouge of an imposed democracy is finally wearing off as Germany begins to reassert itself again upon the world stage. Germany clearly appears ripe for a leading role and eager for action, their leaders appalled that untermenschen have misruled for too long. Whether the German public thinks they're ready for it or not, they will follow strong leadership.
Considering Poland's recent history with Germany in WWII, and in the light of biblical prophecy, Poland has every right to be paranoid about what other deals Germany and Russia have struck that they haven't disclosed, purposely leaving the world in the dark. Are we ready for a big surprise?
